Accessibility Statement

The body making the statement “Public Transport Administration” is committed to making its mobile applications accessible, in accordance with the law of 28 May 2019 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies. This accessibility statement applies to:

What is digital accessibility?

Everyone should be able to easily use and consult the information on a website or an app, in particular people with disabilities and/or using assistive software or specialised equipment (blind, partially sighted or otherwise disabled people).

Compliance status

These mobile applications are not compliant with the European Standard EN 301 549 and the Framework for Assessing the Accessibility of Mobile Applications (RAAM) version 1 . The reasons for this non-compliance are listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):

Non-compliance

  • The label “Flag of Luxembourg” of the button for selecting the country code is irrelevant (in the Android version the label is “Untitled”) and the following button, which is used to change the country code, is not recognised as a button with this function (criterion 1.3 of RAAM v1).
  • The contrast between the Via logo and the background does not meet criterion 2.2 of RAAM v1 (minimum contrast of 4.5:1).
  • There is a table in the terms of use, which cannot be accessed with the smartphone’s screen-reader function, and a summary description of the content is not available. When using assistive technologies (criterion 4.2 of RAAM v1), the screen becomes unresponsive. In the Android version, the terms of use are not consultable.
  • In the German and French versions, several texts that are read out by the screen reader are in English (criterion 6.1 of RAAM v1).
  • There is a context switch when receiving the access code via SMS that is not understandable to users navigating using screen reader software. As a result, a screen reader user is not guided through the login process in an understandable way (RAAM v1 criterion 5.3).
  • When logging in, each text is identified as a heading. The structure therefore does not comply with RAAM v1 criterion 7.1.
  • The list on the Settings screen is not correctly recognised by Talkback. The screen reader reports that there are four items in the list when there are only two.
  • On the “Track” screen, the date is not read out as a date format (RAAM v1 criterion 8.1).
  • The phone number on the login screen is not pronounced in an understandable way (RAAM v1 criterion 9.8).
  • On the “Future rides” screen, the first focus is not at the top of the page, so the reading order does not reflect the visual content of the scree (RAAM v1 criterion 10.2).
  • When logging in, a visually non-existent button is detected by the screen reader (RAAM v1 criterion 10.3). On the Settings screen, there are two buttons without any function labelled “Button”.

Disproportionate burden

The content of the application cannot be viewed regardless of the orientation of the screen (portrait or landscape). The application is stuck in portrait mode and therefore the application does not meet RAAM v1 criterion 11.9. Meeting this criterion would impose a disproportionate burden compared to the expected benefits.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on the 8th of March 2023. The declarations contained in this statement are accurate and based on an actual evaluation of these mobile applications compliance with the requirements defined in RAAM 1 , such as a self-assessment done by “Public Transport Administration”.
